    Lavern B. Depeine

During her practice at Family Care Connections (FCC), in Woodbury, New Jersey, Lavern received training in treating individuals and families in coping with traumatic experiences. Previously, she also gained training at Institute for Family Services (IFS) in helping individuals and families to understand how domestic violence and social justice issues might be impacting their lives.  Prior to becoming a therapist, Lavern received extensive training in faith based counseling.  As a therapist, she is fully aware of that need to practice within a faith based framework for those who request it.

Lavern supports individual clients and families who are dealing with problems that stem from issues such as: depression; anxiety; marital distress; trauma; domestic violence; poor parenting; and social justice. She utilizes treatment approaches from various systemic models of therapy including Experiential, Structural, and Contextual therapy, according to the needs of her clients. She has worked with clients of various racial, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Lavern engages with her clients to help them interact more effectively at home, school, and in the workplace. She provides a safe space where her clients can gain a greater understanding of themselves. This helps them to determine how their choices may be interfering with gaining an inner sense of peace as well as reaching their personal and therapeutic goals.
